ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED Submission guidelines below are for authors accepted to the second stage of review only.
Dates and length: Papers should be between 6000-8000 words in length. The paper must be prepared for blind review and sent to [email protected] no later than 11:59 PM (British Summer Time) on the 31st of March 2017. Please note that this is a strict deadline and we will not be able to accept papers submitted after this time. Authors whose papers have been accepted for presentation at the conference will be notified no later than the 22nd of April 2017. (This is a week later than previously advertised). To aid our anonymization process, we ask authors to re-submit a cover sheet attached as a separate file, providing the title of the paper and the author(s)’s: - Name - Personal pronouns and/or honorifics - Email address - Institutional affiliation - Appointment title - Demographic information the author(s) wish to declare Anonymization: Please name the files for your submission, respectively: ‘HWEP – paper’ ‘HWEP – coversheet’ If your submission requires any supplemental files, please name these: ‘HWEP – paper supplementary 1’ and so on. All submitted files must be in .doc or .docx format. If for some reason, it is not viable to present your paper/supplementary files in either of these formats you may submit in .pdf or .rtf. If you do need to submit in .pdf or .rtf please include a wordcount at the top of your paper. We also ask that you strip all identifying meta-data from the file. Instructions on how to do this for Word and Windows can be found at the bottom of the page. Finally, we ask that you do not include details about the content or title of your paper in any email correspondence with the conference organizing committee. Paper format: Margins: should be roughly equivalent to the normal setting on word. I.e. 2.54cm top, bottom, left and right. Justification: Please left-justify the text. Typeface: Please use only widely used document fonts for body text (e.g. Times New Roman, Helvetica, Arial, Calibri). Typesize: Body text should be 12 point. Spacing: Body text should be 1.5 spaced. Footnotes should be single spaced. Referencing: Any standard referencing style is acceptable – though we would prefer footnotes to endnotes. Self-citation: Citations of the author(s) own works must be discussed and cited in the third-person, i.e. Josie Smith would cite her own 2010 article as (Smith 2010) and list this in the bibliography as ‘Smith, J. (2010) …’
To scrub a file of unwanted metadata in Windows 7/8/10: Select one or more files in Windows Explorer. Right-click and then click Properties. Go to the Details tab and click Remove Properties and Personal Information.
